WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

To Register for your SIP Silver Warranty visit www.sip-group.com and click on the "Register Warranty" Button. No claim under this Guarantee will be considered or accepted by SIP unless you have registered for the SIP Silver Warranty on the website, and followed the procedure set out on the website for making a claim under this Guarantee.

By this Guarantee, SIP guarantees to the purchaser of any of the above products (“the Customer”) that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship at the date of original purchase for the period of time set out in the Warranty Timetable above (“the Guarantee Period”).

If within the guarantee period the product is determined by SIP to be defective (at the date of original purchase) due to defective materials or workmanship, SIP will, without charge for labour or parts, and at its discretion repair or replace the product or its defective parts subject to the terms and limitations below.

SIP may replace defective products or parts with new or refurbished products or parts. All products and parts replaced will become the property of SIP.


Terms & Conditions

  1. Products will only be replaced or repaired if the original invoice or sales receipt (indicating the date of purchase, model name and dealer’s name) is presented by the Customer with the defective product within the Guarantee Period.  SIP may refuse to repair or replace products if these documents are not presented or if they are incomplete or illegible.  This Guarantee will not apply if the model name or serial number on the product has been altered, deleted, removed or made illegible. This Guarantee is active from the moment the product is purchased.

  2. To activate a claim under the SIP Warranty scheme the customer must follow the steps set out on the SIP Warranty Claim Procedure, details of which can be found on the SIP website.

  3. Before a Product, that is subject to a Warranty Claim, is accepted back by SIP, it is a requirement that the customer commits to paying for costs incurred should the cause of the claim is not be covered by the SIP Warranty - these contingency charges are advised to customers before goods are collected for inspection.

  4. The customer is responsible for packing the unit adequately to eliminate the potential of damage when goods are returned to SIP.

  5. To purchase the SIP Gold Warranty, payment must be received by SIP at least two months prior to the expiry of the Silver Warranty on the item concerned.

  6. This Guarantee does not cover:

    1. transport costs and risks associated with transport of your product to SIP.
    2. loading or unloading Goods at Customers Premises.
    3. unintentional physical damage to the product which includes, but is not limited to, accidental damage to internal product components (for instance because of an accidental drop) which are not visible from the outside of the product.
    4. liquid damage when the product which is not described as Waterproof or suitable for use in water is exposed to liquid.
    5. periodic maintenance and repair or parts replacement due to wear and tear.
    6. consumables (components that are expected to require periodic replacement during the lifetime of a product such as Lead Acid (AGM) Lithium batteries, crocodile clamps, belts, filters, blades, welding torches, contact tips, pressure washer lances, hoses, wheels, Floor Scrubber brushes,  Air Compressor motors, air ends,  inverters). This list is not exhaustive but provides an indication of Parts and Components considered to be consumables.
    7. damage or defects caused by use, operation or treatment of the product inconsistent with normal use, or tasks for which the product is not designed.
    8.  fair wear and tear.
    9. improper Handling of the product.
    10. damage or changes to the product as a result of misuse, including:

      1. treatment resulting in physical, cosmetic or surface damage or changes to the product or damage to liquid crystal displays
      2. failure to install or use the product for its normal purpose or in accordance with SIP instructions on installation or use
      3. failure to operate the product in accordance with SIP instructions on proper maintenance
      4. installation or use of the product in a manner inconsistent with the technical or safety laws or standards in the country where it is installed or used
      5. repair or attempted repair by persons who are not SIP, or SIP Authorised repair agents
      6. adjustments or adaptations without SIP’s prior written consent, including:
      7. upgrading the product beyond specifications or features described in the instruction manual, or
      8. modifications to the product to conform to national or local technical or safety standards in countries other than those for which the product was specifically designed and manufactured.
      9. Damage caused by exposure to Heat or Frost
      10. Damage caused by the use of unsuitable chemicals or contaminated water supply.
      11. Neglect.
      12. Accidents, fire, liquids, chemicals, other substances, flooding, vibrations, excessive heat, improper ventilation, power surges, excess or incorrect supply of input voltage, radiation, electrostatic discharges including lightening, other external forces and impacts.
      13. Product Used for purposes of Hire.

In the event that the Customer knew or ought to have known that the damage to the Product was caused by any of the occurrences listed in clause 6 (a) to (j) above, SIP shall be entitled to charge the customer a minimum sum of £100 plus VAT for the time and expense incurred by SIP in dealing with the claim under the Guarantee.

In the event that machinery is returned with fuel in the fuel tank, a fuel disposal charge will be made based on the rate applicable at the time – details of the current rate are available on the SIP website.

Goods left in the care of SIP, by agreement, will attract a storage charge from two weeks following the day the customer is advise by SIP, that the product is ready to be returned by SIP to the customer. 

The level of Storage Charge will be made based on the rate applicable at the time - details of the current rate are available on the SIP website. 

Goods that remain with SIP by agreement, but Storage Charge payments are not received, will be disposed of six weeks following the expiration of time paid for by the most recently received Storage Charge payment. Disposal charges will be invoiced to the customer and due for payment within 30 days.

Goods left in the care of SIP without agreement, will attract a storage charge from two weeks following the day the customer is advise by SIP, that the product is ready to be returned by SIP to the customer. 

At the end of a six week period of charged storage, unless the customer has provided alternative instructions, the goods will be disposed of and the customer charged for  Storage and Disposal. 

Payment of these charges will be due within 30 days. 


Exclusions & Limitations

SIP’s only obligation under this Guarantee is to repair or replace products subject to these Guarantee terms and conditions.

SIP will not be liable to the Customer, following repair or replacement of any product in accordance with this Guarantee, for any loss or damage suffered by the Customer arising from such repair or replacement of a product under this Guarantee, including economic or intangible losses, the price paid for the product, loss of profits or any other indirect, incidental or consequential loss or damage.

This Guarantee is only available to the original purchaser of the goods following purchase of the product from a recognised SIP Reseller (Dealer, Wholesaler, Distributor or Retailer).

This exclusion does not exclude liability for personal injury or death. 

Your legal rights reserved.

This guarantee does not affect statutory rights you may have against the person from whom you purchased the product. 

You may assert any rights you have at your sole discretion.


SIP Gold Extended Warranty

On top of your regular guarantee, SIP provides a Service based Gold Warranty that allows the extension of the duration of your Silver product warranty for a further 24 months and offers other advantages.

To benefit from the SIP Gold Warranty, products must be maintained in accordance with the schedule set out in the SIP Gold Warranty Scheme.
