WARRANTY TERMS & CONDITIONS

 

  1. SIP (Industrial Products) Limited (“the Company” or “us”) warrants in relation to any of the above branded products that the product will be free from defects in materials and workmanship from the date of purchase for the period of time set out above (“the Warranty Period) in the Warranty Timetable. One year warranty is given as standard. To benefit from additional warranty years in line with the Warranty Timetable above, the Customer must register their purchase at sip-group.com/warranty/register-warranty within 30 days of purchase. This Warranty Period applies to new products which are part of the current product range of the Company (as detailed in its catalogue) and which are to be used only by the Customer. For graded stock and products for hire, see the warranty periods below.

  2. The Warranty period is subject to the following limitations:

    1. Any restrictions based on fair usage/hours of use according to the specific product manual as shown on our website – sip-group.com – or relative to the design of the product;
    2. A maximum period of 3 years whilst a product is held in a distributor’s stock. Any products held for a longer period in the distributor’s stock will be sold by the distributor without the benefit of a warranty, and;
    3. In relation to any products that contain batteries, a maximum period of 1 year warranty applies from the point of sale from the Company to distributor.

  3. The warranty above may only be relied on by a customer (the “Customer”) who purchased the product directly from us or from one of the local stockists or online trading partners.

    If within the Warranty Period the product is determined by the Company to be faulty, due to defective materials or workmanship, the Company will without charge for labour or parts, and at its discretion repair or replace the product subject to these terms provided that:

    1. The SIP Warranty Claim Procedure, https://www.sip-group.com/warranty/warranty-claim-activationhas been followed in full;
    2. The Customer has met all of the Customer Requirements (see below); and
    3. No Warranty Exclusions (see below) apply.

  4. Customer Requirements

    In order for the warranty to apply, the Customer must:

    1. Provide full details of the product defect including images and videos and such other information as the Company may request. This will help eliminate supply, installation, application issues in an attempt to prevent unnecessary charges being incurred by the distributor/customer should be the product returned to the Company;
    2. Provide the original invoice or sales receipt (indicating the date of purchase, product/model name and invoice/delivery details) with the defective product and ensure that such documents are complete and legible;
    3. Pack the product in accordance with the returns packing requirements which are detailed on the returns form sent by the Company. Any damage or less resulting from insufficient or inappropriate packaging is the sole responsibility of the Customer. Charges may be levied by the Company to repair such damage;
    4. Return all accessories together with the product; and
    5. Drain all fuel from the product. In the event that a product is returned with fuel in the fuel tank, a fuel disposal charge will be made.

  5. Warranty Exclusions

    The warranty does not cover the following and the Company shall have no liability in relation to:

    1. Product damage;
    2. Negligence;
    3. Unfair wear and tear and excessive use;
    4. Transport of your product to and from the Company;
    5. Product items designed as consumables including batteries, crocodile clamps, belts, filters, blades, welding torches, contact tips, cables, spark plugs, AVRs, brushes, bearings, chains, pressure washer lances, hoses, wheels and tyres, seals and floor scrubber bushes. This list is not exhaustive;
    6. Changes to the product;
    7. Treatment resulting in physical, cosmetic or surface damage or changes to the product;
    8. Failure to use the product for its normal purpose in accordance with the SIP instruction manual or good trade practice;
    9. Incorrect installation;
    10. Repair or attempted repair by persons who are not SIP Authorised Repair Agents or a qualified professional;
    11. Adjustments or adaptations without SIPs prior written consent;
    12. Damage or neglect caused by the use of unsuitable chemicals, contaminated water, incorrect or contaminated fuel, overloading or underloading, accidents, fire, liquids, chemicals, excessive dust, other substances, flooding, vibrations and excessive heat, improper ventilation, incorrect pressure, power surges, excess or incorrect supply of input voltage, radiation, electrostatic discharges including lightening or other external forces and impacts or other unsuitable environmental conditions including poor storage, frost;
    13. Inappropriate use of extended power supplies such as extension leads;
    14. Any product where the model or serial number on the product has been altered, deleted, removed or made illegible.

  6. All maintenance and installation should be carried out according to the specific product manual as shown on our website, www.sip-group.com.

  7. Freight and transportation costs between the Company and the Customer are paid at the discretion of the Company.

  8. If on inspection the fault is found not to be manufacturing fault (in relation to which the determination of the Company shall be final), the Company will:

    1. Charge for collection and delivery costs and an automatic inspection charge; and
    2. Notify the customer that the product is ready for collection once any repair, delivery, collection and/or inspection costs are paid.

  9. Storage of returned goods:

    1. Goods will attract a storage charge from the date falling 2 weeks following the day at the Customer is advised by the Company, that the product is ready to be collected by the Customer.
    2. Goods that remain with the Company where storage and/or repair payments are not received in full, will be disposed of after an 8-week period without liability to the Customer.

  10. Products used for purposes of hire are only covered under this warranty for 3 months from the date of purchase. This is based on a maximum 8-hour shift, 5-day working week and dependent on products being operated within their respective duty cycles in accordance with the user manual. The Warranty Period is based on fair usage according to the specific product manual as shown on our website – sip-group.com – or relative to the design of the product. The hirer must ensure that goods are suitable for the purpose intended.

  11. Graded stock: from time to time, the Company may sell graded stock (pre-used, ex-display, reboxed or reconditioned products). The warranty length varies by grade and is specified in the graded stock list.

  12. If the warranty claim is accepted and the product repaired:

    1. The original warranty period remains, it does not restart from the time or repair; and
    2. A new warranty of 3 months is given the components repaired only, not the complete machine.

  13. The warranty is not transferrable.

  14. Subject to the above, where the Customer did not purchase the products directly from the Company, the Company shall under no circumstances whatsoever be liable to the Customer, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, for any issues concerning the products and/or their sale which must be taken up by the Customer with the distributor from whom the Customer purchased the products.

  15. The Company reserves the right to change warranty terms at any time.
